On Thursday night Peter and I went along to the annual Belle and Beau Ball for the local school. We were invited to judge the Belle and the Beau. The local school only has 90 children from prep to year 10, and I think nearly all of them were there.
It was a little like going back in time. The kids have dance cards and do old fashioned bush dances like the Gypsy Tap and the Pride of Erin. Our criteria included escorting the partner back to their seat, smiling and conversing while dancing, as well as appearance.
We were waaay overdressed but we sort of thought we would be.
