Our kitten Belle was fed and cared for by a friend while we were away. She is now largely an outside cat but comes inside at night and whenever else she wants to.
She's not highly motivated by food. While we were away she was more interested in cuddles than in the food given to her by our friend.
She's the most dog-like cat I've ever seen. She follows us when we go for a walk, even over the highway (if I'd let her).
After we got home we thought she'd be desperate to go outside but she spent 3 hours howling, like she was asking us where we'd been and insulting us for leaving her for so long.
I had a cat that would follow me up the road to the corner when I went to work. I think she gave up at the corner because she realised I wasn't going to turn around if I got to there.
ReplyDeleteShe also used to bound over to see me when I opened the back door. But, being a cat she'd race around to the door using the concrete path - she'd only reluctantly get her paws wet on the grass if there were no path to where I was at the time (e.g. the clothes line).
