Is a particular struggle of mine, in case you haven't already guessed. The very excellent devotional I have been using for the past twelve months is doing a week on joy. Here's a quote -
" Just so, we are commanded to rejoice. It is a decision - a choice - we make. Every day we will choose either joy or cynicism, joy or despair, joy or desolation; joy or worry; joy or complaining. Many Christians are like Eeyore, the perennially dreary donkey from Winnie the Pooh series who spreads gloom over the Hundred Acre Wood. He is not dismal because bad things happen to him. He is grim by choice even in favourable situations."
Just don't confuse joy with happiness; the two are not the same - it's very possible to be sad while still joyful.
