Cross Cultural Experiences

People from church invited us to their farm so we (well, mainly the kids and I) could experience harvest time. They are harvesting sorghum in these photos. A week before harvest, they spray the grain with roundup (!!) to kill it. The top photo is of the 'header'. The bottom photo is of the auger from the truck up to the silo. The second bottom photo is of the dog who rode in the front of the header (harvester) with the driver and Peter and Lucy. Basically they run from dawn to dusk 7 days a week until it's all harvested. These machines are worth a fortune and farmers hire them. The other photo is of the koalas who live on the farm.
