Electricity
Tomorrow morning we are losing power for 3 hours while Energex does line maintenance. This will, obviously, be a mild inconvenience. However, I refuse to be part of the mass exodus to Dalby that seems to be going to happen because we will lose electricity for 3 hours. Must we be that dependent on a commodity?
It's funny - just as I read this my laptop died from lack of power.
ReplyDeleteGee, a whole 3 hours - have these people never lived through a blackout from a storm? Is it that bad in your gardens that you can't go outside and garden or read a book?
Of course, if Dalby has a cinema (?) then it may be an opportune time to check out a movie.
Do the movies work when there is a blackout?!?
ReplyDeleteTruly, Helen, it makes rural folk appear less than the resilient image that they'd like to be seen as! (What a shocking sentence!) Maybe they just needed the excuse? How far is Bell from Dalby?
Well, the power actually went off from 9.20 to 2.30. Lucy was disturbed but the rest of us were fine. God puts a perfectly good light in the sky for the daytime! We spent pretty much the whole day outside.
ReplyDeleteWe are half an hour north of Dalby.
